Vice President, Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria
Graduated in Sofia, N. Galabov practiced architectural design and construction projects management in Bulgaria and California, USA. Devoted to sustainable architecture, his projects are designed to the standards of environmental assessment methods such as: LEED and BREEAM. He holds a green professional certification from “Build it Green” in USA, and an international consultant degree from DGNB. N. Galabov is licensed to work on buildings listed for historical value and he is an external expert to the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria. He is an expert in the EU framework program for research and innovation – Horizon 2020 and covers several Institutional roles: Vice- President of the Chamber of architects in Bulgaria, member of the Union of architects in Bulgaria and AIA, Chairman of the Parents’ Board of the Lycée de Langue Française “Alphonse de Lamartine” in Sofia.
He has been awarded for outstanding professional contributions, supporting affordable housing, and implementing energy conservation and sustainable measures in USA and Bulgaria. N. Galabov served as ACE Board Member, 2012-2013 as Coordinator of thematic area “Architecture and Quality of life”. In May 2012 he organized the round table “Architecture+”, hosted by the President of the republic of Bulgaria and supported by ACE, where the “Declaration of Sofia” advocating for quality of the build environment was signed.
